The actor said he spoke to Richard Karn and the boys about a possible spin-off or reboot of the 90s comedy. Could a Home Improvement revival be in the works? Well, according to the series' main star, Tim Allen, a spin-off is something he's talked about with his former co-stars on more than one occasion. Tim Allen recently sat down with The Messenger and explained that he's been talking about re-airing the series Home Improvement. And in a recent interview, Tim Allen revealed that at least there has been talk of a spin-off of his beloved comedy from the 1990s, Home Improvement.
Tim currently stars in the second season of The Santa Clauses on Disney+, but before playing the Jolly Old Elf, the actor spent eight years on the television network as Tim The Toolman Taylor in Home Improvement. And although Allen added that he doesn't know how relevant his character from Home Improvement still is, he believes that a reboot focused on his children, Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) and Mark (Taran Noah Smith), could work. As for what a new version of Home Improvement would look like, Allen suggested taking an approach similar to that of the Netflix spin-off Fuller House, which focused on the series' adult children. Home Improvement aired from September 17, 1991 to May 25, 1999, with a total of 204 episodes spread over eight seasons.
